Night Photography

When I first picked up a camera and learned about how to expose film I became interested in pushing the boundaries of exposure time. I loved the idea that time + available light could paint a picture that never truly existed in a single moment. The images were made up of individual moments caught on the same piece of film. I went out to shoot several times a week and walked the streets of Portland from sundown to sun up like a vampire with a camera and tripod. the images I make at night more recently are of the stars and galaxy but the concepts are still the same.
